How to make your old Logitech G25, G27, or Driving Force GT work on PS4

As you probably know if you’re on this page, Logitech wisely decided to not support any of their old racing wheels on PS4, only their new G29. If you have a G25, G27 or DFGT, you’re out of luck.

The answer, the big “screw you!” to Logitech, is GIMX. You just need to make a USB adapter and run the GIMX emulator on your PC or Raspberry Pi.

I’ve spent way too much time in the past couple of months setting up my G27 wheel on my PS4, including running GIMX on a Raspberry Pi to take the laptop out of the loop. I decided this was way too much hassle for most people to go through, and I could make up a bunch of adapters relatively easily (yeah, right). So here’s my “hello world” website where you can finally buy this adapter!

I will not have time for support questions, so please read the GIMX wiki and forums for help. Hopefully soon I will also post Rpi images to get you off the ground quicker with Rpi, and I’ll probably also sell the little circuit board with a power button and status LED as described here, because it’s quite handy.

    Is there any way to check the firmware is flashed properly? I have everything set up as instructed but Gimx is saying my G27 isn’t detected even though it’s working properly. I don’t see a switch on the board to reflash it, so I’m stuck.

    1. I’m sorry I missed this message. Are you the guy I sent a replacement to? Please email me on my PayPal address if you are still having trouble.

      Sometimes the issue is as simple as plugging things in in the wrong order. I find that I need to plug the Arduino into the PS4 last, otherwise it may fail to initialize properly.

      Make sure the wiring between the CP2102 and the Arduino is correct. GND to GND, TX to RX, RX to TX.

      1. I dont want to off the conversation with HU words, good to see you are Hungarian too. 🙂 I changed my mind, because I dont want to spend my time with the calibration, and I dont want to use the PC in the meantime.
        I saw you have a full bundle, with complete setup (around 60 USD). Is that available too?

        1. Yes, the pnp solution is available. It has been on backorder, but I just got a new supply so I can ship end of this week or beginning of next.

          2. Szia. A regi kommentem csak az adapterre vonatkozott. Azt most mar nem arulom kulon, csak a raspbetty pi csomagot. Erre dragabb a posta, mert nem fer be boritekba. Ha csak az usb adapter kell, meg van egy-ketto amit el tudnek kuldeni. De a raspberry pi teljesebb csomag, nem kell laptop, csak bedugod s mukodik. Szoljal, hogy pontosan melyik termek erdekel, es kuldom. A paypal cimemre is irhatsz.

    Can you send me the file/firmware to update on the sdcard for the g25?

    1. Don’t know what chip is in that, so I can’t even guess. It doesn’t look like it would work… You might need to get some type of arduino that’s supported by gimx. Read up on the gimx wiki.
